| Cal accepts Holiday Bowl bid The California football program continues to make unprecedented strides under head coach Jeff Tedford. On Tuesday, the Golden Bears accepted a bid to the 29th annual Pacific Life Holiday Bowl in San Diego marking the first time in program history that Cal has advanced to bowl games in four straight years. Cal will play a Big 12 opponent to be named later. The Holiday Bowl will be played at Qualcomm Stadium on Dec. 28 with kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m. (Pacific). It will be televised nationally by ESPN. | Re: Cal accepts Holiday Bowl bid With Cal accepting the bid for the Holiday Bowl, My Rose Bowl dreams have been crushed. I do have to say, I can accept MIchigan going because they are a Big 10 team, but if Notre Dame gets the other bid, it will be a great travesty to the history of the Rose Bowl.
