It is a mighty nice thing when the team take the week off and finds themselves all alone on top of the conference. It's week #9 and Cal plays UCLA at home. This is a late game starting at 5 pm PST on ABC. UCLA is coming off of a loss to WSU this past Saturday. UCLA is not looking like the teams it has had in the past. Cal has had the week off and has rested. Marshawn Lynch ended up with both ankles sprained by the time it was said and done against Washington. I see Cal to keep on rolling along this week.

Another amazing win for the Golden Bears. 38-24 was the final score and it was a great game to watch. The win puts them at 6-0 in conference play and 8-1 on the year. Marshawn Lynch rushed for 81 yards and received for 45 yards, including 2 TD's, totaling 126. DeSean Jackson had 3 catches for 58 yards and a punt return for a TD. Jordan had 5 catches for 86 yards and 2 TD's. Nate Longshore had a near perfect night. His stats were 20-24-266-3.

UCLA tried to make a game of it by scoring a couple of TD's late in the game, but time management was their downfall. Their record is 4-5 overall with three games left to play, jeopardizing their bowl hopes.

Cal is in control of their own destiney. If they win the rest fo their games, they are a shoo in for a BCS Bowl game, hopefully the Rose Bowl. Also, with Tennessee losing, Cal should achieve their highest ranking since the preseason. Next stop, Arizona.
