The California Mens water polo team is currently #1 in the nation with a record of 7-0. They have confirmed their national preseason ranking of #1, but were ranked to come in second, behind definding national champ USC, in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. The MPSF is the governing body for water polo because not all of the PAC-10 teams play water polo. The team got to a 5-0 start after having a dominant performance in the Navy Open, outscoring their opponents 80-23 in five games. The teams were from St. Francis, MIT, Johns Hopkins, Bucknell, and Navy. Then the team hosted Pacific and UC Davis and beat them both 20-8 and 19-4, respectfully. The teams next few games will be at the Stanford Open and the Air Force Open.
