Flames resign Iginla, Regehr

The Flames locked up captain Jarome Iginla to a US$35-million, five-year contract extension Wednesday as well as top defenceman Robyn Regehr to a $20-million, five-year extension, erasing any of the drama that could have occurred next summer when both players were slated to be unrestricted free agents.

Re: Flames resign Iginla, Regehr

This is good. I feel a little better about the state of hockey. After all the greedy moves that have been happening this week, and the pmptying out of teams for no good reason - I'm not saying these two didn't get a boatload of money for staying - but when i think calgary, i think these two. And lookm - they still are Flames. I LOVE Iginla. i think he's the new Jean Beliveau. he's classy and he's just got the best face, and good for calgary for locking in two of their most amazing/inspiring players.
