| Flames sign Owen Nolan CALGARY (CP) - The Calgary Flames have signed veteran winger Owen Nolan to a one-year deal worth US$1.75 million. The former 44-goal scorer can also earn another $250,000 in performances bonuses. Nolan, an unrestricted free agent, had 40 points (16-24) in 76 games with the Phoenix Coyotes last season. The move to Calgary reunites him with Flames GM Darryl Sutter, his former head coach in San Jose. | Re: Flames sign Owen Nolan I can't believe people are still paying for him. We had him in Toronto for a season. I was very excited when he got him, I thought he was great and there are people who will argue he was great for us too - but i remember him as an injury ridden old guy past his prime. Calgary needs better than this. |
