Talk about coming out of left field! The Calgary Flames have made a swift, sudden coaching change, hiring Mike Keenan and shifting last season's coach Jim Playfair to another, unspecified role in the organization. Playfair led the team to a 43-25-10 record and the NHL playoffs. Should he have been fired? Can Keenan take this team further?

Who knows? Since the 1994 Rangers team, Keenan has failed wherever he's been. Hopefully, he's on medication, now. The guy is nuts.

I'm of the same mind as i was with Boston firing lewis after a season - this is not the right move.
Give Playfair a chance. bringing in Keenan is like bringing in - it seems like they think his name will make the Flames more watchable, you know?
Playfair did pretty good you ask me, and he's been dedicated to this Flames team.
This in my mind is some crazy move. Stinks of showboating.
