| Amonte Is time to rethink Tony Amote's position on the Calgary Flames hockey club? I really don’t enjoy cutting down any players in the NHL but when it comes to teams seriously vying for a cup it is necessary to examine every player's contribution to the betterment of the team. Tony Amonte is a player who works hard but does not work smart. He tends to give the puck away in key situations, rush passes, make blind passes, skate too far ahead of the play and just make bad decisions. Overall just ineffective. I look to him to fill in the role that a marty gelinas did in the 2004 playoff run with key goals, effective hardworking and creating his own chances but I just don’t see amonte possessing the ability, the drive or passion to live up to this. His lack of confidence and frustration (not helped by comments like mine i realize) is an energy kill to the forward marching team and a conflict on the creative and talented line with lombardi. I dont think trading him is possible but with the talent depth of the Calgary Flames let someone else be a spark for this line... a dono or the eliminator type - someone willing to do whatever it takes to contribute and help this team succeed! -my thoughts let me know yours FLAMES CUP CHAMPS '07! |
