BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -- Daniel Briere and the Buffalo Sabres are going South -- for Game 7.

Briere scored a power-play goal 4:22 into overtime and the Sabres forced a deciding game in the Eastern Conference final with a 2-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night.
J.P. Dumont also scored and rookie Ryan Miller stopped 25 shots.

Well, well, so much for Carolina in 6...the Sabres win an overtime thriller, sending the series to a game seven...hope the Oilers are taking notes...cause Ryan Miller and his gang are jsut warming up...

although, i wouldn't have minded winning in regualr time. That carolina goal sucked the air right out of my balloon.
briere is the star this time, and yeah, Miller's looking good. having the crowd behind them was key - so I'm curious what happens now in Carolina. Still they are revved up. Winning this one is huge incentive, adrenaline-pumping.
I'm feeling more confident now, myself. If Buffalo does it, they have some time before the Edmonton series, maybe some guys can use that time to get better - maybe Teppo will definitely be back for a FULL game (said he showed up in the first, sat out the rest). The guys with the broken bones are out but maybe Connolly...
and hey pete b - your fat lady's song will have to wait.

Hey, I just knew the Sabres had a fight in them...and I am all about that glass being half full...yes sir...stick with me blueandwhite girl...I give you some positive Karma for next years Leafs...(BTW, can't put off game five any more...I will sim tomorrow...maybe my positive thinking will get me through it...maybe we can make the series 1-4....maybe... )

As far as the fat lady singing blueandwhite, I hear that the sound is much better down south. I repeat myself here. If it wasn't for that unbelievable save by the Sabre goalie....I don't know who was in there at the time because I thought Miller got pulled but...dangit...that was the game winner right there. I am still reeling.
