This was a big game. I'm not sure Buffalo can pull it off now.
Sabres played well (too many penalties - have I said that before?) but just not good enough. carolina is looking like the better team right now. still, Brind'amour says it was one of their worst games yet.
Ward was back in net after they pulled gerber (What??) because he let in two quick goals.
It was tied for half the game - OT was short and sweet, Stillman's the OT hero again.
There was an amazing breakaway by Afinganov - he is fast - with about 4 minutes to go and he could have won the game right there, but wasn't to be.
Talk still about when will Connolly be back - my money says he is gone for the rest of this season, short or otherwise - and numminen - probably ditto.
said it before - it ain't over - but it's do or die now.

So so sorry blueandwhite about your terrible game five loss. Please view the post on the Carolina Hurricanes thread. I don't wanna rub it in yet because as you say its not over until its over. But you know the fat lady is warming up her vocal chords.

It is but a scratch in the armor...a slight wound that will bring on the rage that is Sabre hockey...who wants to win a series the easy way?...this is just preparing them for those pesky Oliers...

I had to hold back my laugh after reading your post. I really don't think I've heard anything so desperate since "opposites attract". Although it is just after the second period and the Sabres are up 1-0. Let's hope the rage that you are talking about comes from the 'Canes side of the ice. Oh and you know I just wanted to ask you guys something since you are all such great Hockey enthusiasts. Did you ever hear the saying "If you have two good goalies, you have no goalie"?
