Gamenight in Buffalo!!!

Okay we lost Campbell, but we got Steve Bernier helping us in the next game vs. the Predators. I think we can win, especially since we have another big hitter to get more power plays for the Sabres. Keleta and Steve Bernier working together is power play and frustration city!!!

Re: Gamenight in Buffalo!!!

Also, our power play and penalty kill has improved bye at least 50% in the past two years. It is amazing, and I think our penalty kill is 4th best in the NHL. Our power play good be a bit better, but it is becoming WAY better then it was last year and at the beginning of the year. I think the SABRES can win!!!

Re: Gamenight in Buffalo!!!

final score 8 to 4 and bernier has two goals and an assist his first game out.
Feeling lucky now, sabres fans?
who else had a great game? Lydman had 4 assists. Roy netted a goal and assisted.
Arnott had 2 goals for nashville.
all 4 goalies played. I've never seen that.
Miller left with the Sabres up 3-1, and returned after Buffalo had a 4-3 lead and Thibault allowed two goals on seven shots.
Ellis took over for Mason after Mason let in 5 goals on 19 shots. Ellis let in 3 goals on 14 shots.
Goalies were sleeping.

Re: Gamenight in Buffalo!!!

Wow. Needless to say, I think the entire Buffalo area is breathing a sigh of relief after Bernier showed up as best as he possibly could last night.
first goal. snuck behind the nashville offense and received a beautiful pass from vanek. awesome, perfect, sick. what else could i say?
then on a delayed penalty ON BERNIER, he received a pass from lydman and seared a shot into the back of the net. pure pandemonium. btw, lydman has 4 assists last night. good for him.
then he also had an assist on a roy goal that looked identical to his first one. how i wish i was there last night. (fortunately, i'm going tomorrow!!)
i see an immediate chemistry with that line, its going to be the best line we have soon enough. roy, vanek, and bernier always know where the are and know how to score. ridiculous, im really excited.
hoping that buffalo keeps moving up in the standings!!! 8th place baby!!

Re: Gamenight in Buffalo!!!

Miller played great. He had only one goal on him that was fair. He was injured, and when he dropped, Nashville shot. Not fair at all. But when the Nashville guy went down and we had a two on one, they called the whistle.

Re: Gamenight in Buffalo!!!

of course miller came back
they say it was only a bloody nose from a shot that actually bent the mask grid that hit him square in the nose
does not sound like something that should happen on a normal basis
but yeah he came back when thibault blew it and let in 2

Re: Gamenight in Buffalo!!!

wow flip flopping with philly, and a horrible night for the sabres
they didnt play, i know, but the rangers, bruins, and flyers all won in the same night. that kills.
well, were facing the habs tonight and if we win that will be a huge boost for our morale. and we can gain some ground on the hated sens.

Re: Gamenight in Buffalo!!!

yea they definitely are
well huet was a big part of their team but they still have a very strong special teams that has killed us in times past
i just want the sabres to put themselves in a very comfortable playoff position so it does not come down to the wire
i'm sure you feel the same way with ur team, blueandwhite

Re: Gamenight in Buffalo!!!

Yeah, but they are out of contention. still, I want them to keep winning.
it's stopped being exciting here, but not in a horrible way - just in a realistic way. I'll watch every game still, but it's not like last year where that spot was up for grabs and we were one of the ones grabbing for it.
it's more exciting in Buff. where the playoff spot is truly being contested.

Re: Gamenight in Buffalo!!!

it is, but it isn't.
i don't like how we are fighting for a playoff spot when we were the best team last year. what does that say about us?
and i would not be so pessimistic - i mean 6 points out of a playoff spot is not a whole lot. but if you are trying to say that you could not see this team going far even if they did make the playoffs, then i guess i could understand...kind of. there really are a lot of good players on the leafs but its depressing for leafs fans to see them below the dividing line.
if not this year, then theres always next year! might have to be saying that abot buffalo if we are not careful
