| Re: Ref reviews- Is it for the NHL? Sorry, I'm having trouble understandig what you're asking here. Are you saying the refs are bias against the Leafs in their replay reviews? How in the world would Toronto "cheat" during reviews? Color me confused, Oli. |

| Re: Ref reviews- Is it for the NHL? Im kinda confused too. However, I dont think toronto would be cheating for their benefit. If they are, there should be serious consequences resulting. it seems that goals are getting increasingly more difficult to determine because a lot of goals are scored with a crowd in front of the net or off of deflections from sticks or skates. It makes the job for the refs harder, in my opinion. Thats not to say goals scored in hockey today arent any better than they prob were 10 years ago or so, but slapshot goals like the one with vanek last night (hat trick can u believe it!) arent quite as common as they were. no matter which team, each goal should be given an equal amount of review and judgment, its only fair. | Re: Ref reviews- Is it for the NHL? In the past, refs have cheated for Toronto. They call Toronto, and they help that team. That isn't happening anymore to one specific team, but it used to happen. Also I meant that when you call Toronto they say the goal is or is not a goal when it is not or is a goal. Get it? |

| Re: Ref reviews- Is it for the NHL? Olli I totally disagree. Is this a Buffalo-Toronto thing here? We get the bad end of the stick as much as the other guy - actually, because I'm a fan, more than the other guy. I'm a little offended but this is sports, so i won't take it personally. Toronto doesn't cheat. You state this as if it is fact. What i will say is, every single player in the NHL tries to get away with something when they know they've done something wrong. Every player denies he tripped/hooked/slashed. Every player will fight the You kicked the puck in the net shot. We sit and wait for reviews when you know the player knows it wasn't a goal but they fight it every step of the way. There is one specific ref who hates us, is still working today, and he has said, Tucker's big loud mouth makes him rule against us. He's openly said this. So i think, it just works both ways. Some teams are favoured at certain points, some aren't. There is no conspiracy. I always thought Toronto had to prove themselves that much more, because of history.

Perhaps you are getting confused with the phrase "they're calling Toronto to review that goal". As far as I understand it the video review judges have their offices in Toronto. They're not calling the Leafs to review the goal, their calling a division of the NHL offices. I think if you looked statistically (I don't know if anyone can find these numbers) you'll find the Leafs get just as many goals called back as any other team. I've watched 90% of all Leafs games for the past 10 years. I've never seen a video review go in favour of the Leafs that didn't deserve to. Do you know otherwise? |

| Re: Ref reviews- Is it for the NHL? LOL. A hockey conspiracy theory, I like!...though I am not following it too well. I f something is reviewed by the league, and thus subject to open scrutiny by the media, why would the league or anyone tip the scales toward one team over another? I can see a star player getting favorable calls during a game...but once ti goes to review, how does one team get favorable calls?

| Re: Ref reviews- Is it for the NHL? you need to find more passion, blazin. I can't hear you. yeah, that's the best point peterborough - a conspiracy for a team that hasn't won the cup in 41 years - that hasn't made the playoffs for 3 years. maybe it is a confusion with the offices in Toronto. |

| Re: Ref reviews- Is it for the NHL? Well I was using Toronto as an example. Honestly, I said one simple thing that no normal fan would take like an insult, and I get shot down... Now I am confused. Right now, I was saying this. Since I was a little shooken up when I wrote that, due to a family tragedy, I couldn't really explain anything. I was saying around the NHL, goals are being allowed and disallowed because of a hated team or a favored team. The offices in Toronto have Toronto fans, so I was using them as an example as it happened with them a couple of times. I wasn't saying they cheat. If one of you live in Buffalo, you would see MANY goals favored against Buffalo, but sometimes it is for the Sabres. So to say this in a simple way, sometimes Toronto and the refs go for a favored team or player. |
