the sabres once again did what they to and a little more on friday against the islanders. if u missed the 1st period, then u essentially missed the entire game!! by the 1st intermission, the score was 5-1

(r u kidding me?). the sabres were
LIGHTING UP THE ICE LIKE A CHRISTMAS TREE!
and they made the islanders look like it was their first time on skates. a ton of pressure in the islanders zone contributed to how the period would end up. and u might ask "who scored these goals?" - well, here are the goal scorers from the 1st period: chris drury (2) - and let me just say that ITS ABOUT TIME HE GOT OUT OF HIS DRY SPELL i mean there was a LOOONG stretch of games where drury did nada - but anyway, vanek scored, along with roy and stafford. another thing to note: pominville had 3 assists (count that, 3) assists in the first period alone. incredible!
what made this game a little more exciting than the others is that there were 2 shorthanded goals that came from roy and drury. u talk about no effort - well thats the way any1 could sum up how the islanders played in the first. a stat like that is unacceptable. and did u see that move vanek pulled? that was SICK. he made the goalie want to hide under a rock - anyone who let in 5 goals in the 1st would probably feel the same. we just destroyed him (whatever his name is - o well, hes no good neway)
all the effort by the sabres was put in the 1st as the islanders scored 3 more goals by the end of regulation, one with about 30 seconds left in the game. that sounds unacceptable to me as well - they need to keep a team at where they cant play - like in the 1st - but do that for the ENTIRE GAME. i want to see them blow out these guys, not let them come back. zubs (who ive come to like a lot more lately) scored a 3rd period goal just to keep the islanders out of reach.
overall, impressed. not in the 2nd and 3rd periods, but in the 1st! WOW! buffalo showed the NHL, the islanders, and the fans how explosive they can be, no matter who is in the net. thats y theyre gonna be the most dangerous team in the playoffs.

(tho not 2 say there wont b many other good ones 2)
