heres the full injury report on all the injured players. theres some promising news to tell, so ill get right to it:
tim connolly- expected to start skating today and hopeful about coming back before the season ends. hes ben out for about 10 months now and has had to go through many frustrating times, inclusing a more recent stress fracture, but he will probably back soon. let me just say that they could rly use him back cuz they need someone to give this team a boost on the powerplay and penalty kill, which as of late has suffered horribly. no one has his great skill and stick-handling either so im sure that the day connolly comes back is going to be a joyous day here in buffalo.
ales kotalik- very good news that kotalik could be back on the ice this weekend after missing about a month of hockey. he suffered a lower body injury on february 17th and has made steady progress since then. once again, another player that buffalo could really use right now and in the playoffs. hes got such a blazing slapshot, and in the shootout - well, lets just say no goalie looks forward to kotalik coming down the ice at them!
toni lydman- after leaving thursday's game with an upper body injury, lydman has been listed as day-to-day and will likely be back in less than a week. however, he is not expected to miss a lengthy period of time out like he did in november, where he sat out for 9 games with a neck injury.
daniel paille- unfortunately, not the best of news for paille. reports say that he is still feeling sharp fain in his broken finger, and will have to stay out another 1-2 weeks. but the good thing about that is that he will be back on the ice before the playoffs, which is when most (if not all) the injured sabres come back (and when they do, WATCH OUT!!

)
maxim afinogenov- a favorite in this city and on this team, max will still remain out for another week or two and will probably come back before the end of the season. my personal favorite, finny is one of the best skaters the NHL has (if not the best). he lights up the ice with his amazing spped and can make plays happen. he broke his left wrist on february 15th, which means that he has been able to work out and stay in shape.
paul gaustad- and last but not least, "the goose" is doing better than everyone thought. it is now hopeful that gaustad could return sometime in the playoffs. his physical mentality has made him a very likeable sabre player and thats just what this team needs and is lacking right now. he suffered a lacerated tendon on february 7th against the senators
