Unable to reach a a new deal with 2 time Pro Bowl LT Jason Peters, the Bills have traded him to the Philadelphia Eagles.
In exchange for Peters, the Bills will receive the 28th overall pick -- the second of the Eagles' two first-rounders -- and a fourth-round pick in this year's NFL draft and a sixth-round selection in 2010
Peters was threatening to repeat last year's hold out. He is thought to be underpaid for a high profile player at his position. He is scheduled to make a base salary of $7.2 million over the last two years of his contract.
Listed at 6-foot-4 and 340 pounds, Peters just completed his fifth NFL season and was selected to his second consecutive Pro Bowl. He was an undrafted rookie out of Arkansas in 2004 and broke in with the Bills as a tight end.
After his rookie season, Peters was converted into an offensive lineman and started 10 games at right tackle in 2005. He moved over to the left side midway through the following season.
Bills can't strike deal with LT Peters, so they agree to deal him to Eagles
He's their most talented offensive lineman and its going to be tough to replace him.
