| Re: Buffalo #1 pick Donte Whitner This is an interesting article in defense of the Donte Whitner pick by the Buffalo Bills.
"Who really knows at this point if Whitner will move in to the strong safety position from day one and quickly make the Bills forget about Lawyer Milloy, who despite being highly respected around the league became a step slower and a total non-factor in too many games for the Bills over the past season?" wonders this reporter. "But this is what I’m certain of, and the majority of football fans around the league probably don’t realize. The Bills pass defense last season was appalling. In fact, the club allowed an astonishing 48 pass plays that went for at least 20 yards and they were dead last in the league on third down stops and inside the red zone."
No one seems to be questioning Whitner's potential, just that he might not have been the best value pick at the #8 selection. So, all that aside, will the former Ohio State defensive star be in the opening day lineup for the Buffalo Bills? |
