Buffalo Bills QB issues

One of the most talked about decisions facing the Bills this off season is should the club trade its back-up QB J.P. Losman.
It is generally thought, however, he will play out his contract as back-up for Trent Edwards.
One possible replacement for Losman if he would be traded is Dolphins Cleo Lemon.

Buffalo Rumblings :: Potential Bills Free Agent: QB Cleo Lemon
Good idea or not? Would Lemon make a good back-up for Edwards?

Lemon would be every bit as good as Losman for at least half the price. I'd do it if I was Buffalo.

I would make this move. It can't help Edwards' development with the former starter as his backup. Every time he makes a mistake he will have to worry about being replaced.

Oh please...Lemon is a ...well lemon...Losman has more upside...that is if you want to pay for upside...I see Lemon staying in the league another 10 years for 7 different teams for which he will start 3 games and throw a whopping total of 313 passes...so says my all knowing crystal ball...

I think Lemon is just as good as losman, probably even better. I say take him, cheaper. Plus they wont have to listen to losman complain about being backup.

Cheaper yes...better, I haven't seen it...this is a guy who could not win the job in Miami even when Daunte was down, and then when Green went down and Beck was far from ready, he still did not perform good.

Couldnt win the job in Miami? The whole team blew excelpt for thomas. You cant expect a team to do great if the have below average players and a good QB, thats why they were trying out different QB's , they were desperate.

Re: Buffalo Bills QB issues

Your responses were interesting.
I got this info from Bills Blog. The writer asked some questions of a Dolphins fan and this what he said about Lemon:
What is your opinion on Lemon as a player? Do you think he's a borderline starter, or just a backup that can win you a few games during stretches? As you can tell from my previous comments, I'm not a very big fan of Cleo. When you consider his physical tools as well as his ability to read defenses and make decisions, I'd say Lemon is, at best, an average backup quarterback. He's inaccurate, makes terrible decisions, fumbles, takes really bad sacks at the most inopportune times, and, worst of all, is a really crappy teammate. What I mean by a "bad teammate" is that he is somebody who feels he is better than he is. So he will often come off as a guy who doesn't support his teammates.

Of course, this particular Dolphins fan would really like to get rid of the guy. He figures he will end up with Cam Cameron in Baltimore. He figured they deserve each other.

No, I agree with Goth. Lemon is a lemon.

Lemon may not be great, but let's not oversell Losman here either. I still say the two are close in terms of talent level.

Losman has the all the tools to be a great QB in the NFL, Bills should give him one more year.

Uh-huh, yeah. And so do Kyle Boller and Rex Grossman. Why are teams so hesitant to dump these duds at QB???
