Davey of Richmond, Va. says "I think that people get too caught up in the wheeling and dealing aspect of the draft... Ideally you'd like to pick the players you want at the last possible spot you could get them, but as long as you're picking good players you're doing fine. If Donte Whitner turns into a Pro Bowl safety, then the fact that the Bills probably could have traded down and still drafted him will be far less important than the fact that they got themselves a player to build their defense around."
Hmm... does the guy have a point? If Whitner's the next Ronnie Lott, will anyone even remember that the team could've traded down a bit and still got him? |
