Thurman Thomas Hall of Fame

Buffalo Bills RB Thurman Thomas was one of six players named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame today. According to the Associated Press, "Thomas was the league's most valuable player in 1991, when he gained more than 2,000 yards from scrimmage. His 13 seasons with 50-plus receptions, nine of them in a row, are exceeded only by Jerry Rice. He joins Jim Kelly, who made the Hall of Fame in 2002, from the Buffalo teams that won four straight AFC titles before losing in each Super Bowl." So is he a deserving Hall of Famer?

Hall of Famer all the way...the Bills have nothing to be ashamed off...they were the best AFC team of the early 90's...Thomas was a horse...but over shadowed by Smith and Sanders...

I agree. Thomas was definitely an underrated back. Far better pass catching threat than either Sanders or Emmitt and in their league in terms of a runner as well. When the three of these guys played, their names were always mentioned together, yet somewhere, somehow, Thurman fell out of the equation. Glad to see that the HOF voters didn't overlook his efforts.

If he had played an ounce better in the Super Bowl he would still be mentioned in the same breath but he did not and so he tarnished it a little bit...

And yet Barry, who never even caught of whiff of the Super Bowl, is still held in high esteem. Guess it's better never to have gotten there at all then to have struggled against the eventual NFL champs, eh?

I am just glad that he received the recognition that he deserved. People always look down on Buffalo athletes. Yea we didnt win the big game. Big deal. He was one of the best backs of all time, no question in my mind

Well you hit the heart of our Super Bowl teams, but I do believe that Kent Hull was one of the best centers ever (but everyone knows he wouldnt ever get consideration) and Steve Tasker is hands down the best special teamer ever but they dont hand out Canton bids for that. And of course Ralph Wilson should make it into the Hall before he dies so that the man can relish the moment.

Barry supporters hang onto the argument that he never had a good enough team to get to the Superbowl.
