JP Losman

As a Buffalonian, all last year there was nothing but criticism coming from sports radio and the newspaper concerning the QB situation. People wanted Losman in instead of Holcomb and vice versa, and no one seemed happy with any performances. My question is what do you think about JP and his future in the league? Was he the right choice for Buffalo?

Re: JP Losman

i think Lossman is a real good choice

Buffalo seems to have bigger problems the QB right now

personally i think the MVP's you can have on any team is the O-line

where would Aikmen and Smith ever have been without all the All-Pros infront of them

this off season the Bills should invest in some quality lineman, then look out in the AFC East for sure

Re: JP Losman

I was gonna start a thread about Losman but I see one already exists so I wanted to rate his performance in 2006. I say he's very good considering that the Bills aren't a great team by any means. I love his mobility and his arm. His 2 best assests. He uses those assets to make big plays too which is very Elway-esque of him. His decision making can improve but has gotten loads better than the past years. Accuracy-wise i'd say he's fine. He's not as precise as Peyton Manning but not as way off the target as Eli Manning. If the Bills shore up there O-line a bit more and possibly get a solid pass catching tight end I think they are gonna be contenders soon cuz JP Losman in my view is the real deal.

Re: JP Losman

I thought the new regime in Buffalo didn't like Losman and would look to replace him this off-season.

I think that would be a big mistake if that happens. Losman made signifcant strides in 2006 and will continue to improve. What don't they like about him?

Empire, there are no signs of dislike or dissappointment in Buffalo of Losman. His biggest critic, Jerry Sullivan (head sports columnist for the Buffalo News), was impressed with his significant progress and showing this year. Losman is here to stay, but can we keep Willis? Maybe not. Can we keep Clements? Maybe not. Can we keep Fletcher? Maybe not. Can we build a better offensive line? Maybe not. These are the real humps the Bills need to overcome with free agency and the draft.

Ben Roethlisberger didn't ruin the quarterbacking position, but he did ruin some people's perception of it. Namely, there are a handful of rather impatient football fans who now think that any quarterback who doesn't immediately find success within two years and win a Lombardi Trophy is a failure.

J.P. Losman has been one of the victims of Ben's success, as some wondered why he wasn't able to instantly turn Buffalo into Steelers North. The criticism subsided in 2006, though, as Losman put to work valuable lessons he learned while struggling through 2005 on the way to a solid season.

I'm still not sold on Losman, no matter how they try to spin it. I just don't believe he has the tools to be an NFL quarterback.
