Fans of the Miami Dolphins began chanting for Joey Harrington to make an appearance in the latter stages of yesterday's game, and as fans of any other National Football League team can attest, that is never a very good sign.
Their desire for the backup quarterback was prompted by the failings of the starter, Daunte Culpepper, who might have heard the jeers had he not been wholly enveloped by the tenacious defence owned by the Buffalo Bills. The 29-year-old was sacked seven times en route to a 16-6 loss at Dolphin Stadium.
"Our defence really played big today," Buffalo head coach Dick Jauron told reporters. "Pressure when we needed it. Got him down when we needed to. That's not easy. Contained the run, too."
Buffalo came within minutes of shutting Miami out for the first time in almost four decades, despite a rash of injuries across the board. Linebacker Takeo Spikes was sidelined with a hamstring injury, and safety Troy Vincent was recently placed on injured reserve with a wounded hamstring of his own.

First, the Bills give New England a tough game last week, and this week Buffalo beats Miami. So, how good is this team? Better than we expected, apparently, but are they a playoff contender?
