Ryan Gracie, a mixed martial arts fighter and member of the famous Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu family, was found dead today in a Sao Paulo prison cell, a day after he was jailed on a theft charge. The 33-year-old Gracie was arrested Friday afternoon. Police said he stole a car, threatened its owner with a kitchen knife, crashed the car into a concrete wall and tried to steal a motorcycle. He was imprisoned last night, and this morning he was found dead of what Brazilian authorities are calling a heart attack.

Gracie's death is currently the lead story at the web site of Folha, Latin America's largest newspaper.

Ryan was the "black sheep" of the family, he's had a lot of personal problems recently. Reportedly in a drug test before being placed in jail, they found several drugs in his system (including marijuana and cocaine).
