WBC Champ Rahman to fight Mesi?
Talks are heating up for a heavyweight fight in late fall in a casino in the Northeast between two-time WBC champion Hasim Rahman and undefeated Joe Mesi of Buffalo. Rahman, after a disappointing performance in victory over Taurus Sykes June 14 in Rochester, boosted his career record to 43-6-2 (34 knockouts) with a second-round TKO of Dickie Ryan Friday night in Michigan. He fought at 250 pounds compared to his flabby 261 pounds against Sykes. -- Rochester Democrat and Chronicle
