| Red Sox beat A's, 5-2 Jason Bay is starting to break out of his slump. Josh Beckett left his behind a while ago. Bay hit his first homer since June 23, Beckett improved to 8-1 since May 1 and the Boston Red Sox beat the Oakland Athletics 5-2 on Tuesday night.
