Boston, coming off its longest road trip of the season -- a 10-game stretch where it went 6-4 and swept AL Central-leading Detroit -- hardly threatened against Millwood in the first five innings. The Red Sox's best chance came in the third when Mike Lowell bounced out to end the third when Michael Young made a nice play to his right with runners on second and third.
Jacoby Ellsbury flied out with two runners on in the sixth.
