| Re: Schilling wins 200th Schilling is not a Hall of Famer. 7 of his 18 seasons are losing seasons and 1 is .500. If you let him in with 200, you will need to build another wing on the Hall for guys lie Jim Kaat and Tommy John, with well over 200, and guys like David Wells and Mike Mussina. |

| Re: Schilling wins 200th I'm with legend on this one, DK. There's nothing Schilling can do at this point, short of playing until he's 80, to make the Hall of Fame. The guy's got a winning percentage of roughly .600, has never won a Cy Young Award and statistically baseball-reference.com compares him to such heavyweights as David Cone, Kevin Brown, Jimmy Key, John Candelaria and Bob Welch. Nope, that ain't HOF material. |

| Re: Schilling wins 200th In this day and age, 200 is a solid accomplishment. Precious few on that list did it in 5 man rotations; several of them pitched in 4 man rotations, and some of them pitched even more than that. 250 is going to be what 300 was in terms of pitching wins. |
| |||
| Re: Schilling wins 200th Greg Maddux began his career in '86 and he has 323 wins to date. In comparison, Curt Schilling began his career in '88 and has 200 wins on the dot. I just wanted to leave that bit of information with you. |

| Re: Schilling wins 200th Don Sutton had a great career. In 22 marvelous season he accumulated 324 wins. Sure the statistics may not be great, but he deserves honorable mention. That is why he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in '98. Schilling also has a great career going for him. But you honestly cannot compare a player from the 60's and 70's to the new age of the 90's and the new millenium. That is like comparing Jackie Robinson to Alfonso Soriano, or Willie Mays to Johnny Damon. It is impossible to compare such talent of the ages. |

And for the record Robinson in a land slide over Soriano...and Damon is a glorified bat boy next to Willie Mays (arguably the best player of all-time, with apologies to Dimaggio, the crippled Mantle, and the Babe) |

For arguemnt sake...the great Whitey Ford ended at 236 career victories...1,956 K's and a 2.75 ERA Schilling is at 200 Wins, 2,897 K's and a 3.41 ERA...not far fetch to say that if he hangs around 3 more years he could be considered for the hall... And for those who would argue Whitey's .690 Winning PCT or 10 World Series Victory, that had a lot to do with the Yankee Teams he was on...Schillings winning PCT is far superior than Nolan Ryan's.... |

| Re: Schilling wins 200th I am not debating whether Curt Schilling will be debated into the Hall of Fame. Most-likely he will earn himself a spot due to his excellent performances throughout the years. Nobody can forget the 2004 World Series run, can they? Quote:

| Re: Schilling wins 200th Not exactly, Gotham Dark Knight. No hard feelings, there. I was surprised myself when I did a little research. Curt Schilling (39) made his MLB debut in 1988 with the Baltimore Orioles. Randy Johnson (42) made his MLB debut in 1988 with the Montreal Expos. |
