| Red Sox recall Marzano with fondness BOSTON -- It is sadly ironic that John Marzano was scheduled to come to Fenway Park on assignment for MLB.com on Monday morning for the annual Patriots Day game. Unspeakably sad because the former catcher passed away at the age of 45 on Saturday after falling down a flight of stairs following a possible heart attack in his Philadelphia home. And ironic because it was at Fenway Park where the hard-working and personable former big league catcher broke in with the Red Sox in 1987.
