| Stop the (Word)Presses: Curt Schilling Has Thoughts on the Mitchell Report It was only a matter of time until Curt Schilling's long, rambling dissertation made its way through the internet tubes to your frontal lobe. Attempting to ignore Schilling's thoughts about the Mitchell Report, Barry Bonds, Brian Roberts, Jose Canseco, the legal system, and much, much more, was a purely futile gesture. With that out of the way, we can take a look at what Schilling actually has to say. And in this case, well, it's Schilling, you know? After ripping Canseco as a baseball fraud, Schilling drops this graph: Which in the end gets us here. Say what you want about Jose, and there are things I disagree with and think he's wrong about, but I have yet to find someone he's named who's NOT been guilty or tried to clear their name. The view I have on that is maybe a bit too simplistic but I look at it like this. If Jose had named me in his book, it would have taken about 20 minutes for me to issue a press release vehemently denying the allegations, which would have been as closely followed as possible by as large a legal action as I could have possibly taken to sue for slander, libel, defamation of character and anything else I'd have been able to legally do. It's either that, or I'm guilty. There is no gray area here, you either did, or you didn't and Jose, up through today, hasn't called out anyone that's sued his ass off for false representation, slander, libel or whatever you would do if someone said something like this about you, that you didn't do. | Re: Stop the (Word)Presses: Curt Schilling Has Thoughts on the Mitchell Report I hope he never comes up on the wrong end of a situation with his take no prisoner approach to life...If you are gonna be that in your face with your statements, you better run a squeaky clean life, cause someone will come gunning for you sooner than later.

I sure hope Curt isn't into this mess at all. He'll look so very stupid if he runs his mouth now and then tries to find words that explain his lies. |

| Re: Stop the (Word)Presses: Curt Schilling Has Thoughts on the Mitchell Report You didn't mention that Schill called on Clemens to return the 4 Cy Young awards he has won since 1997 IF he can't clear his name & prove he's innocent. Now on to the original statement, he's right. You bet your ass if someone had come out & said something like Clemens is a cross dressing prostitute during the off season he would have issued a press release 5 minutes after it was publicized. Why did he (not his attorney) take so long to deny it? |

| Re: Stop the (Word)Presses: Curt Schilling Has Thoughts on the Mitchell Report He is a loudmouth, but he does have a good point. Canseco isn't given much credibility by many people, but he is proven right more and more. I hear people say he is crazy for naming A-Rod, but with his track record, don't you have to give him a slight odds that he is telling the truth. Why are their no athletes vehemently denying the claims, and taking him to court. Actors do it all the time with the tabloids. As soon as their name is involved in a scandal they immediately sue them. Do they not want to testify and purjer themselves?

| Re: Stop the (Word)Presses: Curt Schilling Has Thoughts on the Mitchell Report Yeah, I don't see what Schilling said here that's so outlandish. He said, "If Jose had named me in his book, it would have taken about 20 minutes for me to issue a press release vehemently denying the allegations, which would have been as closely followed as possible by as large a legal action as I could have possibly taken to sue for slander, libel, defamation of character and anything else I'd have been able to legally do." Yeah, if you're innocent, I would definitely think you should be fighting as hard as you can to clear your good name.

| Re: Stop the (Word)Presses: Curt Schilling Has Thoughts on the Mitchell Report Thank you! It is so nice to have people who agree with my feelings. I have been arguing that point constamaly. Clemens has alot to lose if he can't prove he is innocent. Why isn't he fighting to clear his name? Kind of makes you go hmmm. |

| Re: Stop the (Word)Presses: Curt Schilling Has Thoughts on the Mitchell Report Oh please, its still a wash...proof that every pitch he threw was loaded?...you can't...he might have use some at some point in time...and batters he faced did to...you can sort through this crap...so lets let it go and start fresh...or take people to court and prove it...But to say Clemens is worse or better than anyone else is silly...all we have is a few data points... |
