Coco:To stay or not to stay? Am I the only one who wants to keep Coco Crisp? I feel like it. Ellsbury is great & I want to keep him too, but he needs to fine tune his skills. The way I see it, Ellsbury can give Manny a day off as well as Coco. He doesn't have the finesse of Crisp, & we all know Coco covers Manny ALOT. Jacoby can learn a few things from Coco. Plus, we can use the speed of both. Does anyone else have an opinion?

Re: Coco:To stay or not to stay? Thank you! That's what I have been saying all along. I finally found someone who shares my point of view. Ellsbury can learn a thing or two from Coco. The wall is hard to play but Coco has it down to a science. And he covers the ground in left field that Manny is too slow or too lazy to get to. Crisp's last season with Cleveland he had a .300 avg. He can do it with Boston too.

Re: Coco:To stay or not to stay? Lots of replies, but I will try to comment on all, if I miss something I'll get back to it. First, I think Manny will be back in 09. Now on to Coco, he is not making crazy amounts of $, he had a bad season at the plate, but sometimes you have to give up offense for defense. That is what I love about Boston, they cover each other & work as a team, unlike the Yankees who think the whole team revolves around one player. That is why the Yankees payroll is larger than the national deficit. We have all the pieces of the puzzle. As I recall Manny didn't have too great of a season, he was hot & cold. With Coco he pretty much plays CF & LF. I have seen Manny actually walk to get a ball that Coco would have easily caught. Ellsbury has the potential to be great but he needs to fine tune his skills. He could learn a hell of a lot from Crisp. He hasn't learned to play the wall yet. He needs to play part time in 08, with Coco as his mentor. In my eyes Coco is an unsung hero.
