| Re: Red Sox Trying for Santana I say keep Coco & Ellsbury. Ellsbury is awesome at what he does, but he doesn't play CF as well as Coco, yet. The way I see it is, Ellsbury can move to LF when ManRam needs a rest or just when he's being Manny. Ellsbury has alot of potential, but he doesn't have the finesse Coco has. Now with the 2 of them, plus Lugo, we have something I don't ever remember having...speed! As far as Lester is concerned, I like him BUT, he doesn't have the stamina necessary for a starter. I doubt Gagne will be back, why not put him as a reliever & see how he does during the beginning of the season (we can always use a reliever who can give a few innings). Santana would make a great rotation, even better, but I don't recall him in the post-season. My point being we won the championship with determination & hardwork, together as a team. There wasn't any one player who did more than the others, that is what Red Sox Nation Pride is all about. |

| Re: Red Sox Trying for Santana Hi Gina and welcome to GTG. Obviously you are a person of great taste if you enjoy the "World Champion Red Sox". There are a few of us here on GTG so you are not alone by any means. Please also tell me that you are a Celtics and Pat's fan also.

| Re: Red Sox Trying for Santana ESPN this morning is reporting that a deal is close, and that it does NOT include Ellsbury. The general consensus is that the Twins aren't going to get any better deals, because neither the Sox nor the Yanks are willing to part with any Grade-A prospects (Ellsbury, Chamberlain, etc.) and Minnesota's starting to realize that this is the best they can do. Think it'll happen?

| Re: Red Sox Trying for Santana If the Red Sox give up anybody it should be Gagne. I know he is a good pitcher, but he is not a good fit (in Boston). Maybe it's a woman thing but when any of our relievers come out of the bullpen, I feel something. Kind of proud & confident. When Gagne is up I get a feeling of dread. As far as Ellsbury going anywhere, if that happens, the management need to go to rehab because they gotta be on something. Now there's Chamberlain, first lets start by saying he's a joke. He throws 3 pitches & can't work again for a week. I don't know if he gave up any earned runs other than the one all Red Sox fans should remember. The first one Joba ever gave up. The home run to the real A.L. MVP, Mike Lowell. We don't need too many changes. I believe in the team we ended the season with. Isn't that what the BoSox are all about... BELIEVING! "Fenway Park & the Green Monster AGELESS Seven World Series Titles TIMELESS Disdain for the Yankees LIMITLESS Red Sox Nation Pride PRICELESS!!!" |

| Re: Red Sox Trying for Santana My prediction is that the Yanks won't do it with or without Santana. |

| Re: Red Sox Trying for Santana I don't know LSC, the best lefty in the league is a whopping big step towards a championship...that team can still hit...and Santana might entice further pitching talent to come over. |

| Re: Red Sox Trying for Santana Latest news is Boston has included Ellsbury in their offer, but taken Lester out. Rotoworld doesn't think that deal is enough to get Santana though. If Boston includes both Ellsbury and Lester in their deal, they get Santana ASAP. |
