The Red Sox' propensity for using profanity during live broadcasts from the postseason interview room has got Major League Baseball feeling a bit red in the face. Josh Beckett, whose language tends to be saltier than kippered herring, has dropped the F-bomb twice during interview sessions broadcast live on ESPN, ESPNews, FOX affiliates and countless radio stations. Manager Terry Francona and Curt Schilling used expletives in Saturday night's postgame press conferences that otherwise wouldn't have made it by network censors. MLB senior vice president for club relations Phyllis Merhige, who moderates the interview rooms, said the incidents have been somewhat disturbing. "Obviously, we're concerned with the profanity going out on a live feed," Merhige said. "This is not the first year we've done it, but I can't remember another year it's come up so often. It's something we may have to readdress with the team prior to the World Series. I have not reminded them on a daily basis that it's going out live and perhaps I've assumed too much."
