Cool Will the Red Sox hold on?

That noose is getting much tighter around their neck, huh?

The only thing is that even if they lose the division, the still make the playoffs so it really doesn't matter if the lose the division, does it?

Re: Will the Red Sox hold on?

They will make the playoffs, but it would really hurt because it was the Yankees doing this. Thank God Theo got to Gagne before Cashman did! He has singlehandedly lost about four of these games in the last month.

Re: Will the Red Sox hold on?

If the Sox would just play to their ability things would look a bit brighter. Right now it doesn't matter because we'll play the Angel sor Indians. Both have the same record right now.

id rather play the indians. the angels can manufacture runs better then any of the 4 teams. Which is key in a short serise

Re: Will the Red Sox hold on?

lol, Eric Gagne is to Boston as Guillermo Mota is to the Mets.

If Boston does lose their grip and head into the playoffs as the wild card...it may not be the end of the world. Remember last year's Cardinals. They had absolutely no momentum heading into October. The rest is history.

That's the comparison that ESPN's Baseball Tonight was making last night. I think they are going to be ok. I think they will hold on to the division.

And I agree, why would you continue to put Gagne in the dang game? Get rid of him.

Cool Re: Will the Red Sox hold on?

Even if they lose the division, they still make the playoffs, so does this streak really matter?

Re: Will the Red Sox hold on?

The Red Sox number right now is three. That will give them the wild card but I'd still like to see them win the division. That way they won't have to play the Angels in round 1

Now Papelbon is anything but automatic. It's almost as if a Yankee fan is writing this script. Please someone tell me where Manny is.

I hate the Yanks, think they're so good.

Hope the RSx can hang on. Also, hope Tigers beat out the Yanks.

It's going to be hard for the Tigers to beat out the Yanks. They are 5 1/2 games back. The Yanks would have to totally collapse for that to happen, which is not a scenario. that is out of the question.

But I agree, I hate the Yanks too.
