Okay, but let's look at each set of comments. The last time, he was way out of line, spouting off things about Bonds as though they were fact. This time, he's just verbalizing a lot of the things I think we're all wondering - if these guys are innocent, and these things are being said and written about them, then where IS all the outrage? Where ARE the lawsuits? I think in this case Schilling has raised a valid point.

so hes being non shalant but still out there saying essentially saying the same things about bonds, its not a mystery bonds juiced, everyone knows this,schilling isnt saying nothing we havent heard,I absolutely think bonds cheated, selig and company are investigating it, I just dont think its professional to say the things he has in the media, and its usually on radio or tv interview, its sorda like sheffield, hes vocal with his opinions as well, doesnt make it right though..

For all we know, he could be speaking for the majority of the union guys. Who knows how many attaboys he got.

So let's say for a second that Schilling is getting tons of emails, phone calls and text messages from MLB players basically talking about how sick they are of the steroid issue and how guys like Bonds and McGwire are making them look bad... is Schilling as union head just supposed to ignore the concerns of his union rank and file?

Of course, I can't prove any of this. I'm just saying there may be a point to what Schilling's doing. He's not just shamelessly promoting himself and ripping his own teammates ala TO, he's actually discussing thought provoking issues (this time). The two are world's apart.

come on man...you really don't think Schilling is a self promoter?... or at elast a promoter of whatever cause fancies him?...He got himself a nice big soap box with the MLB Players Rep gig...I think he worse than TO...TO is into himself true, but it's a very small soap box he stands on...

Maybe to a lesser degree, but I'm not buying into any TO-Schilling comparisons until I start seeing Curt doing sit-ups for the media in his driveway.

Whatever the message, Schilling is not the person to be delivering it. IMO, he has no credibility.

As far as the Union goes, I don't think the players care much from every other signal. They stick with their brothers.

I have to agree with Lefty on this one. Schilling has every right to talk about this and should. Just looking the other way is what got this situation where it is now. He seems to be the only one not worried about a backlash against him for opening his mouth. I just wish Canseco or Schilling would have opened their mouths sooner and stopped this years ago.

Thanks. Finally someone else on this board who's happy that not every player in Major League Baseball just wants this swept under the rug. Forgetting any comments Schilling made in the past, the point he brought up earlier this week about the lack of defamation or libel lawsuits is a good and valid one. Especially with McGwire, as Bonds is currently being tested by MLB. McGwire was never tested and has made no effort to try to prove that he didn't use steroids. Has not presented a defense of his career at all. Doesn't that strike anyone else as suspicious?
