i heard a report today on ESPN Radio that if Alex Rodriguez opts out of his contract the Red Sox will make a big push to get him

this would be great in my mind, id love to have him on the team ..... his bat would be great in the line-up and he can step right back to short stop to replace Lugo

would be a total win for the Red Sox, i hope it happens

According to MLB Trade Rumors, BoSox Pres Larry Lucchino has wanted A-Rod ever since he lost out on him back in 04.

And MLBTR does a nice breakdown of the salaries for Boston which shows that they have enough dough coming off the books at this season's end to afford A-Rod and still be in their current range.

It'll be tough to forget the play he was involved in back in 2004 against the Red Sox in the ALCS. When he knocked the ball out of Arroyo's glove. Many, many fans remember that tactic and dislike him for playing that way. We could use his stats and I will even say that I hope they can get him but I may not be one of his biggest fans.

i dont Sox will ever forgive A-Rod the Variteck fight or slapping the ball away from Bronson Arroyo and the persure will be so high there will be more persurre on him there then there was in New York all signs bad for A-Rod if he goes to Boston he'd be better off in Chicago or LA

Boston fans won't care if they're able to sign A-Rod. He's the best in the game and they'll cheer him as if he was playing in Beantown all his career.

Why would anyone stil think back to the A-Rod/Arroyo thing? It was a dumb decision on his part and there, end of the story.

If arod doesnt sign with the yanks before nov 10th he is def going elsewhere. But IMO the only way there is an excpetion to that statement is if the boss finds out the red sox are about to sign arod, in that situation borris will be able to get any amount he wants fromt he yanks cause of the boss's greed. Sadly boris is the best agent, but i hate him so much but he is the only agent that has been able to toy with steibrienner and mess with his head consistently.

variteck is a leader, if he gets arod on the team he will make it work. Dont worry over that detail
