Red Sox Release Romero

The Boston Red Sox released left-handed reliever J.C. Romero on Monday after designating him for assignment earlier this month.
Romero went 1-0 with a 3.15 ERA in 23 games for the Red Sox this season, walking 15 batters in 20 innings and striking out 11. The Red Sox removed him from the 25-man roster on June 8 to make room for Mike Timlin.Romero signed in the offseason to a one-year, $1.6 million deal with incentives.

Being a lefty, someone will pick him up, but he looks cooked to me.

At one time, Romero was a top lefty middle reliever. What happened to him?

i dont think he ever looked real good out on the mound ..... and now they have Lopez as their lefty reliever
