It was a great run for Josh Beckett, but it's over now. The Boston hurler lost for the first time this season yesterday, 7-1 to the Rockies. According to the Associated Press, "Beckett has won just two of his last five starts, a span that included two weeks on the disabled list with torn skin on his right middle finger. He allowed season highs of six runs and 10 hits, with a walk and a strikeout in five innings before leaving down 6-0." So is the Beckett coming back down to earth now, or will he be able to overcome these recent struggles?

He wriggled off the hook a couple of times. He may just start to pitch more like he did last year in the coming weeks.

Obviously in the last dozen or so games it hasn't all been on just the pitcher. No matter how good you are you're going to lose at some point. Even the very best do.
