Is the mighty Roger Clemens ducking the Boston Red Sox? Sounds like it. According to the New York Daily News, "This weekend's series at Fenway Park might include its usual drama, but Roger Clemens won't be a part of it... with Chien-Ming Wang, Mike Mussina and Andy Pettitte set to start in the three-game series in Boston, Clemens will be held back, likely until Monday." They say he won't have enough rest, but in reality, he's just scared of the Red Sox, right Boston fans?

What else could it be, Marc? A guy with as many Cy Youngs as Clemens has doesn't suddenly up and start struggling against single and double-A competition. He had to be intentionally tanking it to get an extra minor league start and dodge Boston, right?

Plus I hear on good authority that he's no Brad Penny. So I'm taking this and running with it.

Not to mention I'm pretty sure Clemens is making Penny's entire salary a month with his cushy Yankees deal. Penny will definitely win up being the better value-per-win. I bet his ERA is better than Rocket's as well. I know a lot of Yankee fans are putting their eggs in this one basket, but after watching Clemens in the minors, I just don't think he'll be effective at all, especially against the better AL lineups.

Like it or not Rogo has a ton of pressuer on himself right now. He needs to produce to fend off the naysayers (me). He needs to produce to be the Yankees lone savior and he wants to produce so he can enter the HOF as a Yankee. A poor showing will not help his cause at all.
