| Re: "Big Papi" David Ortiz The majority of major league baseball players put an excessive amount of pressure on themselves. It just so happens that a few athletes perform better under pressure, but that is a minority. For most of the proffessionals, they strike out do to pressure. Glance at Shawn Green of the Diamondbacks for an example. He has a bunch of talent, but doesn't use it under pressure from the fans, his team and well...everyone else! |

| Re: "Big Papi" David Ortiz Just a couple of thoughts. Pitchers and teams in general are more wise to his likes and dislikes. They understand better how to pitch around his abilities. He also may have the feeling that because they didn't do the big dance last year that he needs to take it upon himself to perform better. With those two situations any player is bound to struggle. |
