| Beckett to miss next start Red Sox hurler Josh Beckett will miss his next start. According to the Associated Press, "Beckett, baseball's winningest pitcher at 7-0, has a torn flap of skin that hasn't completely healed... Beckett is 'doing very well, very well,' manager Terry Francona said, and will throw a side session before Friday's game against Atlanta."

| Re: Beckett to miss next start Just a quick note on Beckett. I met a guy up in Worcester, Mass. recently who does alot of things with charities for cancer kids. He is involved with procuring players from Boston sports teams for such causes and when I asked him who the best guy with the kids was, he said it was without a doubt Kevin Millar when he was a memebr of the Red Sox. Above and beyond with the kids to the point where he made this guy and other parents cry with his good deeds. Beckett was not at the top of this fellow's list.
