Pretty tough to argue with those numbers. I was a little glad that there wasn't much of a crowd to put extra pressure on him. Now that the first one is out of the way maybe the hype will be a little bit less.

tonight should tell alot about how his season will go.......we already saw Seattle's bats can be beaten so hopefully he will be just fine and get a little run support

I will say this, Hes already got a lot of fans in Boston, the place is going crazy in his first home start..theres cameras flashing from everywhere.. I bet Ichiros not feeling the love that much..

i dont see how you call this outing a failure

he gave up 3 runs in 7 innings what more do you want ?

im a huge Red Sox fan and im not happy we lost but i dont blame him at all.......a little run support would have been nice

He pitched good, the problem was boston had only 1 hit, you cant win ballgames with just 1 hit..

The greatest pitching in the game will get you nowhere without some run production. Seems that his choice of pitches tonight really had them confused. More fast balls than normal.

seems this is the problem we had last year too

this line-up should fairly easily be able to produce 3 runs a game which i believe would give them 3 more wins this year already
