Maybe I just view it all wrong but I don't see him as making bad decision after bad decision. Get to the root of the problem. Right now it is pitching. Giambi's bat is crap right now. Why aren't they talking about canning the batting coach ?

Oh well they are helping the Red Sox dominate so it can't be all bad.
The manager controls all of the smaller managerial positions.

Look at a hierarchy.

If there is a problem, you complain directly to the top.

Boston Red Sox = 2007 American League Champions. I doubt the Yankees will even contend this year.

I truely do understand that theory but if your pitching staff isn't pitching and the bats aren't doing what they are supposed to do, there is not much a manager can do.

Re: Red Sox Nation Pride

The manager is ultimately responsible for putting the checks in the wins column.

Re: Red Sox Nation Pride

ok so Clemens signed with the Yankees ....... we dont need him

right now our team ERA is 3.33 and it's getting better every game

the Yankees team ERA is 4.74 and Clemens isnt going to fix all their pitching problems

Re: Red Sox Nation Pride

Red Sox fans listen up please...don't worry about Roger Clemens and the Yankees. I believe they should hand the AL East crown to the Sox right now and spare the drama. You might have to crush the Yankees in the wild card round that's the best possible case scenario for the Yanks. The Sox have Beckett (best pitcher in the game right now), Wakefield, Schilling and possibly the best closer in the game. It is my firm belief that this Red Sox team is better than the 2004 one. It is your destiny once again to become world champions and I believe that your team will seize that destiny no matter what team signs who! Relax and enjoy your championship season Sox fans.

Rogo went with the Yanks for the money and the chance (ever so slight) to be the AL East savior. He figures if he can save the Yankees this year it will increase the chance he enters the HOF as a Yankee even though his best record is with the Sox.

Re: Red Sox Nation Pride

things really couldnt be looking any better

Dice-K is coming around after starting out a little shaky

the bats are heating up from everyone

play in the field is the best its been in years

even Tavarez is looking better

on top of that Lester may be coming back soon

best of all it seems when we lose the Yankees also find a way to lose so they arent gaining any ground

Remember though, the only place to go from here is down. It cannot keep up at this pace.

well that post is dangerously close to breaking the spirit of this thread ......... and we can too keep this pace up ......... actually be happy we have Tavarez on the pitching staff, if we had another ace we could have 30 wins by now

They probably said that about the Chicago Bulls in the '95-'96 season. They ended with a very impressive 72 and 10 record.
