JD Drew's Shoulder in Serious Question

JD Drew will be going another physical test tomorrow after results from his first revealed some questions. ESPN.com says Drew's shoulder health is in question and it's not known if the test does reveal anything if his deal with the Red Sox could be voided. However, Baseball Prospectus thinks his shoulder could be as damaged as Scott Rolen's.

If Boston finds anything concerning his shoulder in the second test, they may be able to restructure the deal to benefit them.

For the small pitance they are paying him they shouldn't even expect him to play full time.

Boston may be having second thoughts about this deal, and if they don't trade Manny, they will be better off without the baggage.

Re: JD Drew's Shoulder in Serious Question

My conscience tells me to trade Manny.

However, I'm not Epstein.

They should not be able to restructure the deal. It serves them right expecting this guy not to be injured. They should now have to eat his contract.

Is that a statement out of anger or what ???? This was part of the deal from the beginning wasn't it ?? You have to pass the physicals or the deal is off or different offers can be made. The Red Sox wouldn't be the first team to ever do this.

Re: JD Drew's Shoulder in Serious Question

Yeah, most of the time, a player needs to pass a physical or the deal is voided.
