| Re: Red Sox sign Marsuzaka Yahoo! says the deal is close but not official just yet. Looks like both sides won out if that's the correct numbers though. The Red Sox get him signed long term and Boras may get him close to $10 million per. Is it a lot for a guy who has never pitched an inning in the majors? Perhaps but the Red Sox are now a force in the Far East...matching the Yanks and Mariners for sure. |

| Re: Red Sox sign Marsuzaka dont think i would agree with that in this case from what ive heard it is about a 6 year deal at $10 million per i heard he wanted $15 million per also seems if he pitches as well as he has been talked up, in a year or two he will be well underpaid great job by the Sox in my mind, now on to sign Clemens

| Re: Red Sox sign Marsuzaka How dare you defy me! Just kidding, I value your opinion. However, I interpret that contract as reasonably high for someone who has never pitched in America. It is an expensive gamble. |

| Re: Red Sox sign Marsuzaka What player purchase isn't a gamble. To me when you are offering millions based on past performance you are definitely gambling. My theory is that all players earn a base pay and then more based on negotiations and performance. As much as I dislike corporate bonuses, they at least are performance based.
