Devern Hansack of the Boston Red Sox threw an "unofficial" no-hitter yesterday, striking out six and keeping the Orioles hitless for five innings in a rain-shortened game. MLB rules were changed in 1991 to require a game go nine innings in order to count as an official no-hitter, but nonetheless, it's an impressive feat for this kid in his second major league start. What do you think of Hansack's performance on Sunday, as well as his future?

While it's nice to have a five inning no-no, I'm sure Boston higher up's were paying attention. Hansack has probably earned himself a looksee when it comes to spring training and possibly a major league roster spot in 07.

Harvey Haddiz lost credit for the perfect game he threw in 1959 that went into extra innings before he surrender a hit that beat him when that ruling came down.
The Orioles were 3-16 against Boston this year. This kid could probably have no-hit them for nine if it went that far. They have had their bags packed since August.
