A very slight rumor from the Boston Herald that has about a 9.4% chance of actually happening is Boston getting involved with San Diego. The Padres may be interested in dealing Jake Peavy (although some doubt because he's under their control for a few more years). The Red Sox could offer Manny Ramirez.

Again, just thinking (or writing) aloud I think, but worth mentioning for fun.

If Boston continues to be in all these trade negotiations involving hi-profile pitchers (Peavy, Loshe, etc.) and are in contract talks with the Japanese pitcher . . . does that mean Papelbon will continue being the closer?

I mean: Beckett, Schilling, the Japanese pitcher, are 3 locks. If they are able to add either Peavy or Loshe to the 4-spot, do they continue with Wakefield in the 5-hole and Papelbon as the closer? Also, what about Lester? When is he due to return.

The new rumor regarding Manny is a potential three-team trade with the Red Sox, Giants and Nationals. Part of the deal would see Noah Lowry go to Washington and Chad Corder move to Boston.

This would be a great move for Boston, they would get their closer and their pitching staff could be great.

trade rumor shows that redsox are talking to colorado about todd helton, chance of him coming here is for hansen and delcarmen it shows lowell or youkilis is not involved in the trade.
