| Eagles no match for Terrapins GREENSBORO, N.C. - One night after recording its first-ever win in Atlantic Coast Conference women’s tournament play, Boston College found the next obstacle too large to conquer. It didn’t help the Eagles that the team standing in their quarterfinal path was fifth-ranked Maryland. The Terrapins seized early control and used their strong inside game to fend off the Eagles for a 93-81 win. “Obviously, we’re disappointed,” said BC coach Cathy Inglese, whose team dropped a pair of 27-point decisions to Maryland during the regular season. “You look at our stats - we shoot 56 percent from the floor, 80 percent from the foul line and only turn the ball over 13 times. You’re going to beat a lot of teams in the country with those kinds of stats. But Maryland has so many weapons.” Eagles no match for Terrapins - BostonHerald.com
