Eagles hit road block

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Boston College entered last night's Atlantic Coast Conference game against Maryland with a reputation it was proud of: that of Road Warrior.

Coach Jeff Jagodzinski's team already had won road games this season at Georgia Tech, at Notre Dame, and at Virginia Tech. During the last six years, the Eagles had compiled the sixth-best road record (21-

in college football.

But the Terps put a big dent in the Eagles' road reputation, coming away with a 42-35 upset.

And the eighth-ranked Eagles, 8-2 after consecutive losses, encounter another hostile environment at Clemson next week before finishing their regular season at home against Miami.
