Kevin Pittsnogle, the all-time leading 3-point shooter in WVU history, has signed a free agent deal with the Boston Celtics. He played center with the Mountaineers, where he led the team in scoring and earned All-Big East honors in 2005-06, but at 6-11 he most likely won't in the pros. "Clearly, Kevin's strength is extending defenses with his range. He's big enough and he's got a quick trigger," his agent, Dan Tobin, told the AP today. "He's a unique player, somewhat of a specialist at this point. We're trying to expand other areas of his game and I think that's what's going to help him make the transition."

I'm a big fan of Pittsnogle's, so I hope he makes it. Think he has much of a shot?

More regarding the Celtics Pittsnoggle signing. Apparently, according to what he told Bob Parasiliti of Herald-Mail.com, he caught the eye of Danny Ainge while playing for the Miami Heat in the summer league. "He saw me play a couple of games during the season and saw how I played in the summer league," Pittsnogle is quoted as saying, adding "I've watched NBA games and the summer league, and I feel like I fit in well there," Pittsnogle said. "The 3-point line is farther (from the basket), but that doesn't make a difference to me." Think the kid has a shot?
