Former Clemson center Akin Akingbala has been picked up by the Boston Celtics, according to the team’s Web site. He will be on the Celtics’ roster for the 2006 Vegas Summer League, to be held July 6-14 in Las Vegas. The team’s first game will be versus the Dallas Mavericks on July 8.
Akingbala averaged 12.1 points and 8.2 rebounds per game last season. Akingbala ranked in the ACC’s top 10 in rebounds, offensive rebounds, and blocked shots.

Any change this guy will stick with the team now that Raef has been traded? Lets see what kind of Summer league he will have...

You answered your own question, Goth - wait and see how he plays in the Summer league. He's definitely got the chance to succeed, he just needs to make good on it.

I am always leery of free agent pick ups..I mean he wasn't in the top 60 players picked...what's he doing in the league?...Anyone remember when the draft was 7 or 10 deep?
