Yes I remember that earlier version of Greg Kite... ...In the attached interview, the guy picked Cowens as his toughest opponent cause he had to paly him in practice...

You mentioned Kareem, was there any particular opponent you liked or disliked doing battle with?
FINKEL: laughing out loud, "For me they were all a challenge. But having said that, the two toughest guys were, first and foremost, Dave Cowens because he only knew one speed – he played the same way in practice as he did in games and that was all out, that was 125% every night. So, he was the toughest ‘opponent’ that I had to play against because I had to play against him in practice every day. Secondly and having said that, Willis Reed. When Willis was playing for the New York Knicks he was about 6-10, 275 and he would tear your head off to get to the ball. He was a very aggressive and strong player who really wanted to win."

Cool Re: Henry Finkel

I loved watching those Celtic teams. JoJo White, Don Chaney, Dave Cowens, Paul Silas, John Havlichek, Don Nelson, Charlie Scott, Sidney Wicks, Satch Sanders, Finkle...

Yeah but Wicks joined after their last title...things began to go down hill that year...Cowens took off to sell Christmas Trees and walked away from his $280K a year superstar job...Hondo had finally gotten old...

But prior to Wicks...yeah...great team to watch...

Re: Henry Finkel

Good catch Gotham. Let's put in Kevin Stacom and Steve Kuberski.

Re: Henry Finkel

In today's NBA, Finkel would probably be a 15 point a game scorer! Howa bout Art Willimas from those teams? And of course, Paul Westpahl. How did he wind up leaving the Celtics anyway? He was my favorite player for a long time-one of the most exciting guards ever. I once saw him go up to dunk a ball over a Celtic, see that it was going to be contested, and switch hands and dunk it with his left. A great, great player.

Westpahl could shoot with either hand...one of the few that could do it well...I was a big Westpaul fan as well.

Paul turned around and played a key role for the Suns in their classic series against the Celtics...including calling a timeout he didn't have...which got them a technical but also a chance at a game tying shot in that classic triple overtime game.
