| Re: Celtics' Kendrick Perkins undergoes surgery BOSTON (AP) - Boston Celtics centre Kendrick Perkins had arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder Tuesday and is expected to be ready for the start of next season.
Perkins was hurt last week while working out at the team's practice facility. He missed 13 games after he dislocated the same shoulder Feb. 8. "We fully expect him back for the start of the season," said team spokesman Jeff Twiss. "The surgery is more just to tighten the capsule around the (shoulder) joint." The six-foot-10 Perkins averaged 5.2 points and 5.9 rebounds this season, his third since being taken by Boston with the 27th pick of the 2003 draft.
After being drafted out of Ozen High School in Beaumont, Texas, he averaged 2.4 points and 2.7 rebounds in 70 total games in his first two seasons. Perkins had a below par season...I don't think it was all the shoulder...He is still young, but I don't know how much better to expect from him. |
